Born and raised in Singapore, JL (Hoon Jialing) has always been drawn to the arts. She pursued her passion by earning a Communication Design Diploma with a branding design focus from Temasek Polytechnic after excelling in her art O'Levels. However, her true calling emerged when she glimpsed the illustration studio, redirecting her project pitches toward the transformative potential of well-articulated illustration and animatics in branding campaigns.


Quickly after her eye-catching final project "Spectrum," she joined Tell Your Children, immersing herself in illustration and animation apprenticeship. Her desire to create Avengers-like superheroes led her to bid farewell to the team and embark on a year-long 3D Modelling, Animation, and Game Art course in 2022, where she honed her world-building skills.


Graduating in November 2022, she transitioned into freelancing, contributing to renowned brands like Fendi, Uniqlo, Nike, Ralph Lauren, and DKNY. JL, a home-based creative, embraces her role as a wizard of design, constantly exploring AI and cymatics, fueled by exploration. She often engages in live paintings at significant events such as Singapore’s FinTech Fair and Polo Ralph Lauren.
