Azula: 3D Character Design



This was a school project done during JL’s time at 3DSense media school. The goal was to learn how to model an organic character that was cinema ready and hyper realistic.

The reference was Azule, a character from the nickelodean children’s series “Avatar: The Legend of Aang”.  

The head and bust were modelled from scratch using ZBrush. The high resolution normal maps and texturing  was done in Mari. The Albedo maps were custom painted in Mari as well. Hair follicles were processed in Maya’s Xgen hair engine. Clothing was modelled and processed in Marvelous Designer.
